Affiliate Disclosure

The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra. That’s how this site pays for itself.
The longer version
I run weknowtime.com with my brother. Reviewing watches honestly means owning them, wearing them, and photographing them, which costs money. Affiliate commissions are how we cover that cost without putting the site behind a paywall or filling it with sponsored posts.
Here’s exactly how it works. When you click an affiliate link on this site, the retailer’s system records that you arrived from here. If you then buy something within that retailer’s tracking window, they pay me a percentage of the sale. The price you pay is identical either way. You are never charged more for using my link, and I never see your payment details, your name, or your order.
Which programs I participate in
I am currently a participant in, or intend to participate in, the following affiliate programs:
- Amazon Associates. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon’s tracking window is short, typically 24 hours from your click.
- Direct brand programs, including but not limited to VAER, PHOIBOS, BALTIC, LONG ISLAND WATCH / ISLANDER, and other watch brands and retailers I may join over time.
This list changes as programs come and go. If a link on this site is an affiliate link, it is labeled as one at the point of the link.
What commissions do not buy
This is the part that matters most, so I want to be specific about it.
Nobody pays me for a review. I do not accept payment, free product, or any other consideration in exchange for coverage, a rating, or a recommendation.
Brands do not see reviews before publication. No watch company gets to read, approve, edit, or veto anything I write about their product.
I buy the watches. Every watch reviewed on this site was purchased with my own money unless a review states otherwise in plain language at the top of the post. If that ever changes — if a brand loans or gifts me a watch — I will say so clearly in that specific review, and I will still say what I actually think.
Commission rates do not affect rankings. Some brands pay meaningfully more than others. In a “best watches under $500” guide, the watch that pays me the most is not going to be number one for that reason. If two watches are genuinely close, I’ll tell you they’re close.
I will tell you not to buy things. A review that concludes “skip this one” earns me nothing. Those reviews are the reason the rest of them are worth reading.
If you’d rather not use my links
That is completely fine and I’d rather you knew you had the choice. You can search for any watch I mention directly on the retailer’s site, or clear your browser cookies after clicking, and no commission will be attributed to me. The review is the same either way.
